Classe 6 training school

The main characteristic of Ultra Light helicopters is an MTO weight not exceeding 450 kg under French regulations.

Ultra light helicopters, although classed as Ultra-Lights, are proper helicopters. To fly them, there can't be any shortcuts in training, Ultra-Light or not. Basics must be taught, understood and reproduced.

Learning is easy. There are several flight controls easy to use their own but with the added difficulty of coordinating them and this may take some time. We will make sure to give you the best training.

If you already have an experience of helicopters you will need few lessons on type before flying.

On the other hand, if you have no aeronautical experience, you will need a minimum of fifty lessons before obtaining the "classe 6" licence.

The overall time is of course modulated, depending of student ability and instructor appreciation.

First lessons are around half an hour's time with pre- and past flight briefing.

Christophe our instructor, a plane and helicopter commercial pilot with thousands of flying hours will take care of you.

Around July 2014, we will expect to give you the further opportunity to train on a Ranabot CH-77 helicopter. This aircraft has to be assembled from June 2014 in our workshop.

To become an Ultra-Light pilot in France, you need to:

Be 15 years old,

Pass a theoretical exam. (Multiple choice questions about general aviation),

Receive training given by an approved instructor,

Pass a practical test and a rating given by the approved instructor.

This licence is only valid in France and a few other countries with reciprocities.

Check if you are able to fly in accordance to regulations within your own country.
